About Me
Most people watch TV or crack open a book to have fun…and while I enjoy those too, nothing is quite as fun for me as good ol’ Calculus and solving math problems.
I bring my enthusiasm and love of learning into my sessions as I help failing students pass their classes and help students transform their Cs into As.
I have extensive experience prepping students for standardized tests such as the ACT, SAT, ISEE, CHSPE, GRE, and more. I am a patient, encouraging, high-energy motivator who addresses individual needs.
I graduated from the University of Miami with a 3.9 GPA, completing the pre-med track, majoring in Biology and Theatre Arts, and minoring in Chemistry and Psychology. I grew up reading textbooks for fun and began winning math competitions at age 10. My hobbies include reading, songwriting, violin, and dance.
My Teaching Experience
I began peer tutoring in middle school and have been teaching ever since. The last decade I have extensively tutored one-on-one, and I also have significant experience teaching classes and workshops. Before giving birth to my daughter Kayla, I taught math and science at a prestigious private school in Los Angeles.
I have helped failing students pass their exams, A and B students accelerate to the top of their classes, and dozens of students reach their test prep goals. I am a master not only of teaching the content needed for ACT/SAT/ISEE/GRE/CHSPE and more, but of effectively teaching and implementing test taking and pacing strategies that can cause dramatic score improvement.
My Teaching Style
I have an ability to connect with my students and to break down difficult concepts into easy-to-understand, manageable chunks.
I am able to adapt to the needs of my students and also motivate them to work hard and smart to achieve their goals. We’ll identify goals together, discuss the student’s personal preferences and learning styles, and craft a plan that works.
